Here you can see a living coral that made it through the shipping process.  Eventually it
will grow and colonize that part of the rock structure, that is if it survives the curing
process.  Because live rock is shipped dry many of the animals and algae die.  You
have to "cure" the rock by scrubbing most of the dead material off.  What ever is left
will be consumed by bacteria that will start the nitrogen cycle within the tank.
