The
motherboard is the soul of your system and it's longevity.
After deciding on the ATI
3870 X2
for the GPU, SLI was out the window. I decided to go
with the Asus P5E3 Deluxe
using
the X38 chipset. With 1600MHz support (overclocked) I
didn't see the point of
waiting
for the X48. Full support for PCI-E 2.0, DDR3 1333,
1600(o.c.), 1800(o.c.), on board
7.1
surround sound, WiFi, the new Penryn chipset, six Sata
drives, and a crapload of other
features. It's no wonder Maximum PC gave it the best
mobo of the year. Dig that heat sink!
